Leather is a versatile material. It can be worn in various seasons however, people prefer to avoid wearing leather in summers as it can make them feel hotter in hot summers. Due to this, many people store their leather clothing in summers. To help you in this I would like to share some tips you may need to store your leather clothing in summer’s properly.

 

CONDITION THE LEATHER

Leather conditioner will help you to preserve the quality of your leather clothing. Cautiously choose the conditioner as choosing the right product is very essential. Use a soft cloth to apply conditioner onto the leather clothing. Apply the conditioner gently and in circular ways. Wipe out the excess conditioner and wait for conditioner to dry.

 

PREVENT WRINKLES

Even though it is not easy for leather cloth to get wrinkles easily but to prevent any unforeseen wrinkles you should stuff your leather clothing before storing it. After hanging the leather clothes you should use an acid free tissue in the arm and chest areas. This will help in absorbing moisture and foul smell of the clothes. After putting the paper, you should zip or button the leather clothes to keep paper in place.

 

STORE PROPERLY

You should store your leather clothing in fabric bag as to let it breathe. It will also protect it from direct sunlight, humidity, moisture and dust. The environment of the place should be dry, dark and cool.

 

HANG IN CARE

Storing of leather clothing is also an important part of maintenance of leather jacket. A wooden hanger is an excellent choice for storing your leather clothing away for longer periods. The wooden hanger should be thick and it should be wide enough to house the breadth of the leather clothing without ruing the shape of your leather clothing. You must certify that the hanger is supporting the leather from all the sides similarly.
